For Mobility accounts, both a physical home address and a PO Box address can work, but we prefer a physical home address. For the CPV, we require a physical home address with Tech-installation, but if the customer prefers CPV with self-installation, either a physical home address or a PO Box address can be used.
If a customer already has Telus, Koodo, or Public Mobile, they will not be able to keep their current number; they must obtain a new number from us with a preferred area code.
If a customer already has a Telus or Koodo account, we do not need one piece of ID; we just require their Telus/Koodo account number. However, if a Koodo customer wants to switch to Telus, we will need one piece of ID. Conversely, if a Telus customer wants to switch to Koodo, we will also need one piece of ID. They must obtain a new number from us with a preferred area code.
We can provide the CPV in homes and townhomes, but we cannot provide it in trailer homes or apartments.
There is no contract for the mobility plan; it is month-to-month. However, there is a five-year contract for the CPV. The price and plan will remain the same after five years, at which point customers will only need to pay monitoring charges.
The CPVs are monitored by Telus. If any sensor is triggered, it will send a notification to the customer's phone. If the customer does not respond within five minutes, Telus will dispatch the relevant department. For cameras, customers can review the last 30 days of recordings.
Yes, customers can access everything through their phones, including cameras, and can turn home lights on and off, as well as lock and unlock doors.
We accept two forms of ID: a driver's license number and a SIN number. We usually ask for the driver's license number first, but if the customer does not have one, we can ask for their SIN number. We do not accept other forms of ID, such as medical cards or credit cards.
